About Us
The Metal Works Inc. began as a utility trailer manufacturer and repair business in 1979. Over the years we have brought in veteran employees and family members committed to providing quality work and excellent customer service. We are currently housed in a 29,500 square foot facility in Lexington, SC. We have also expanded our steel fabrication work to include: structural & miscellaneous Steel , wrought iron railing, fencing and gates, stairs,and guard rails.
Troy began working in the metal works field just out of high school. He gained valuable knowledge and experience working as a helper, sheet metal mechanic and foreman in the steel industry. Later he became a partner in The Metal Works Company. In 1993 he became sole owner of The Metal Works, Inc. He has gained the reputation in the industry as the go to guy when the project seems impossible. He is married to Brenda, his high school sweetheart, and they have one son, Neil, who is also in the business.
Neil grew up working in the shop learning from some really talented people. He worked during school breaks organizing steel racks and serving as an extra pair of hands where ever needed including even running crews. He is a Clemson University Graduate with degrees in Business and Animal Sciences. He is married to his college sweetheart and has two sons. He is our General Contractor, Our In-house Trainor, Our Certified Crane Operator and Field Expert when it comes to getting the steel in the air or in the Building.
